Rowlee Wines’ 2016 R Series Nebbiolo was named Best Other Red at the 2018 Orange Wine Show, cementing the winery’s reputation for crafting exceptional alternative varietals in the Orange region.

Known for its light colour yet powerful tannic structure, Nebbiolo is a challenging grape to master. But at 950 metres above sea level, Rowlee’s vineyard provides the ideal conditions for this noble Italian variety to thrive. The 2016 vintage reveals aromas of rose, tar, and dried cherry, with earthy complexity and a long, elegant finish.

This award recognises not just a single bottle, but Rowlee’s ambition to expand the Australian palate by championing unique, site-driven wines beyond the mainstream.
