Pinot Noir

The R-Series is a selection of the very best barrels of Pinot Noir from an exceptional vintage. Subtle, spiced cherry fruit aromas with deep forest floor and bright berry characters fill the nose. Whole bunch inclusion during fermentation adds depth with spicy and herbal aromatic complexity. Powerful and fine tannins give structure and palate definition with dark cherry fruit flavours and focused acidity giving tension and texture to the mouthfeel.
Handpicked and de-stemmed with 15% left as whole bunch, tipped into 3 tonne open fermenters and left to cold soak for two days. Hand plunged twice a day for twelve days then pressed to tank. After pressing, the wine was transferred to French oak with 30% new to allow malolactic fermentation to occur, once completed the wine was allowed to mature in oak for 10 months. The wine was then carefully racked from oak to tank for bottling.
